Naam
The Key to God's House?
‘Oh Lord! No one knows of your beginning or your end. Revered is your name.’
Mahraz Darshan Das states that all messengers of God invariably speak of the same eternal truth that is Naam. Though Naam can be discerned in all scriptures, for us simple laymen it is something that is beyond our limited comprehension. So what is Naam?
Naam Mahraz Jee explains is paramount for the Soul to free itself from the endless cycle of life and death. It is the key to Gods house and can only be obtained from a perfect Spiritual Master. Naam is knowledge. Naam is the true Guru.
Through the ages it has been described by the Vedic Rishis’ as Akaash Bani, Kattha Akattha and the Hebrew sages as ‘Memra’. In Biblical terms it is the Word, Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit. To the ancient Greek philosophers it is Logos or Gnosis. Sufi faqirs referred to it as Kalma, Baagi- Asmani. The Gurus and Bhagats eloquently described it in verse as Mithi Bani, Naam, Anhad shabad and Anhad bani to name but a few.
Mahraz Jee clearly stated that people mistakenly think that Naam is a verse from the scriptures. That is incorrect. People he added do not consider what the scriptures say, despite the fact that all questions are answered therein.
Naam is defined in two ways; Varn Atmic and Dhun Atmic. The former, Varn Atmic is the form of Naam, which can be written and spoken and is revealed in all scriptures, be it Yahweh, Allah, Waheguru, Ram etc. In contrast Dhun Atmic is the form of Naam, which cannot be described, and is neither written nor spoken, yet it resounds continuously within the body. It can only be given by the perfect Spiritual Master.
Mahraz Jee states that ‘Varn Atmic’ can be best described as the first rung of the ladder, and ‘Dhun Atmic’ as the last. In order to ascend spiritually to the top one must begin at the bottom.
For the Naam initiate, one has to meditate and transverse within the human body, above the nine bodily apertures. Mahraz Jee states that you first have to concentrate the mind at the eye centre, whilst reciting Naam through verbal repetition. The second stage is achieved when the sound is accepted by the larynx and verbal repetition becomes redundant. The third stage is achieved when the sound becomes part of your heartbeat. Lastly, the sound becomes the essence of your being and is repeated with every breath you take. This is the final stage, one of union with God.
