Yashwanti Niradhar
Yashwanti Niradhar Dham Pehla
Mahraz Darshan Das composed his Rachna (spiritual scriptures) ‘Yashwanti Niradhar’ to embody the essence of his spiritual message and teachings. The word Yashwanti is made up of two syllables, the first syllable ‘Yash’ means praise, the second syllable ‘wanti’ signifies the soul. Finally, Niradhar infers to God who is without form, and without end.
The prefix 'Dham Pehla' signifies the first abode, a grammatical syntax to denote Mahraz Darshan Das as the premier contributor. Mahraz Jee in his life time composed over 300 hymns. Written in exquisite verse, Yashwanti Niradhar is an aesthetic collection of spiritual hymns and devotional poetry. Imbued with a depth of spirituality, Mahraz Jee’s compositions convey an affirmation of One God and an infallible belief in one mankind.
“Main Ta Jaana Eko Data Jis Eh Umat Sajai,
Na Mein Jana Hindu Sikh Na Mormon Isai,
Jaat Paat Te Mazaab Qaum Eh Hai Soach Parai.”
“I know of only one God, who created this world
I know of no Hindu, Sikh, Muslim or Christian
Caste, religion, race this is not my thinking.”
Furthermore Mahraz Jee’s Rachna is unequivocal in his call of duty, to serve humanity, “Hum Karne Aayeh Lok Bhalai,” thereby underlying the central tenet of Das Dharam. Mahraz Jee reiterates that love, service and sharing without favour or reward is your true religion.
In the prelude to Yashwanti Niradhar, Mahraz Jee equates eternal truth with the Supreme Nanak, the name by which he refers to God. Nanak as described by Mahraz Jee is both transcendent and immanent, and simultaneously takes form and is without form.
“Nanak Sach Hai. Nanak Hai Bhi Sach. Nanak Sach Hai, Nanak Saada Hi Sach.”
Yashwanti Niradhar is central to and forms the basis of all our worship. All Satsangs (spiritual discourses) are conducted primarily on Yashwanti Niradhar. Renditions of its verses are explained in detail during the sermon to the congregation, and are further sung during Kirtan (hymn singing).*
